On October 30, 2009, Environment Minister Jim Prentice visited Kangerluusuaq, Greenland.

While there, the Minister met with senior officials from Nunavut and Greenland about the shared polar bear population and took some time to experience Greenland's northern climate. The Minister is focusing on a variety of environmental issues this fall. An upcoming major event is the UNFCCC climate change negotiations in Copenhagen, taking place December 7 - 18, 2009.
