About the Asia-Pacific Partnership

APP partners Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Korea, and the United States represent about half of the world’s economy, population, and energy use. These countries produce about 65% of the world’s coal, 48% of the world’s steel, 37% of the world’s aluminium, and 61% of the world’s cement.

The APP partners have agreed to focus on expanding investment and trade in cleaner energy technologies, goods and services in key market sectors. These key market sectors were established as public-private Task Forces

The Task Forces are mandated to develop and implement action plans for five energy-intensive sectors:

Three energy supply sectors also have action plans:

Each of these Task Forces is working on a wide variety of projects which are taking place in the seven member countries.
