The Task Forces provide periodic progress reports to the Policy and Implementation Committee. The initial projects emphasize:
These projects represent an opportunity to make significant improvements in the use of existing energy and industrial technologies. They also show the need for further analysis and scoping of more ambitious technology projects, and opportunities to overcome specific market barriers.
A distinctive feature of the action plan projects is the robust involvement of industry representatives from the seven partner countries. Virtually all of the projects identified will involve industry and a number of the activities will be undertaken primarily or exclusively by companies and associations representing commercial enterprises. Partners nominated a mix of representatives from their public and private sectors to serve as their Task Force representatives.
Industry participation has greatly enriched and enhanced the potential for cooperation and engagement, and is considered critical to APP’s success and ability to achieve its shared vision of advancing clean development and climate objectives.
